Lighting the candle on the altar in our entryway each morning, my prayer has become a simple one. “Show me what You are up to today, and let me be a part of it.”
I’ve always thought of prayer as my requests to God. Words on a one-way street.
Silly me.
On a recent drive into town, I was reflecting on that simple morning prayer. “Show me what you are up to today, and let me be a part of it.” And then, clear as a if riding shotgun in the car, God said, “Mol! That’s the same prayer I say to you every morning. Show Me what you’re up to today, and let Me be a part of it.”
I almost drove off the road.
Now when I light the candle on the altar, our prayers mingle together, making it hard to distinguish one from the other.
Maybe that’s the point.
